Demolition
The project started up ripping up the old flooring and removing tile, carpet, wood floors. Since the floors were uneven, we also needed to pour concrete leveler in the areas to even the floors up.
Basement Redesign
The old basement had dark yellow colors and columns which made the basement look dark and unappealing. The intent with this basement refinishing project is to open up the ceiling, remove the arches, repurpose the cabinets and lighten up the room considerably.
Remove the Arches
We removed the cabinets and safely stored them away. We then cut the arches out and squared up the walls. We moved electrical wiring and plumbing and repainted the area.
Repurpose Cabinets
We took the old cabinets from the kitchen island upstairs and also the old cabinets from the basement and redesigned the layout of the cabinets to allow more storage space and also have a wet bar, garbage disposal and wine refrigerator.
